Christmas Lights: Cape Cod, South Shore, South Coast

We got out on the roads to check some Christmas/holiday lights. It's a slightly less intrusive form of caroling. We're not part of the War On Christmas, we just say "holiday" lights because one of our photographers took a picture of a car wash, and we don't know the religion of whoever runs the Scrub-a-Dub.

We're not the best shutterbugs to start with, and we're shooting with phones out of moving cars on misty nights. We did get out to see what we could see, so enjoy our efforts even if the results are blurry.

We saw heroic lighting by both towns like Mashpee, and by this dude in the video below, from the Ponds Of Plymouth.

We mainly did Plymouth, Mashpee, Falmouth, Barnstable, Sandwich, Wareham and Bourne. I can't rule out Duxbury, either.

We caught Santa in the act.

Santa looks suspiciously like the Plymouth Lawn Yeti.

Steve handled the Cape, and this was his favorite decoration. He says his phone couldn't capture the right/darker shade of purple the actual tree has. We planned to use this as the leadoff hitter, but instead, we can just hope that the homeowner (someone in Sandwich, I believe) reads this and knows that we think he nailed it.

I can't blame Steve for this one, I managed to cut off half of the tree forest trying to zoom in a bit on the snowman and the Arc De Candycane.

I can blame Steve for this one, he didn't bother to roll down the car window.

The Ponds of Plymouth can be a satisfactory light drive by her own damn self, especially with the Lawn Yeti not too far away.

I don't know if Santa actually hangs out with penguins, but fresh meat is scarce at the North Pole, Santa is a bit portly, and I would understand if penguins served the same role in his diet that chicken plays in mine.

Three photographers on this article, and none of us recall where we took this. Stephen thinks Route 130, I'm thinking Long Pond Road and Abdullah thinks it may be from the Buzzards Bay/Wareham rotary by Cohasset Narrows.

We could have vastly improved this shot by creeping into the guy's yard around those bushes. but Stephen looks like he's coming to kill you in broad daylight, and God himself only knows when he took this shot. The homeowner, who can fairly be presumed is not averse to attention, would probably enjoy the fact that his home was going to be featured in an article on Christmas lights... if the situation reached the point. The situation would more likely reach the point where the police are called and Stephen has narcotics in his car, or where the homeowner looks out the window and has a heart attack, or where Stephen gets both barrels from a shotgun in his chest. None of these scenarios were in  It's A Wonderful Life.

A quick note below from a charity...

Santa hits us up a little extra if we run videos from charities.

Merry Christmas, everyone!
